A maze you have to
hold in your head.
Scout a dark maze with a drone that costs you nothing, then walk the same maze yourself on a flashlight that is already dying.

THE SHAPE OF A RUN
Every place is played twice.
First, you are a drone
A levitating disk with a cold lamp, no battery, and nothing to lose — your body is still standing in the dark back where you woke up. Read the maze. Find the wall the door code is painted on. Work out which of the ways out is the empty one.
Nothing out here can be picked up, opened or unlocked. You are only here to look.
Then you hold WALK
And that is the end of that. No recall, no second drone. Everything you learned is on the map — and everything you didn't look at is a corridor you are about to walk down for the first time, on foot, with a battery.
A route you never flew down is not a safe one. It is an unread one.
HOW TO READ IT
Colour is grammar down here.
Every colour in this game means exactly one thing, and it never means anything else. That is the whole reason you can read a corridor you have never walked.
- SODIUM ORANGE
- A patrol's lamp is on that wall. Nothing else in the game is this colour.
- GREEN
- The way out, and the dial that wants three digits you had to photograph.
- COLD WHITE
- Your own light. The drone's lamp, and the torch you carry after it.
- DEEP BLUE
- A landmark worth steering by. Kept off the warning colour on purpose.
FIVE FRAMES

THE DAILY
Everybody in the world walks the same maze today.
The seed is the date, down to which brick is damp, and tomorrow is a different world. This page works today’s place out the same way the game does — from the date and nothing else.
The Eclipse Chamber
17 × 17
Hewn rock, no door. The way out is a podium that wants your torch.
AND HOW IT TRAVELS
BLACKDAMP 2026-07-28 THE ECLIPSE CHAMBER 17×17 drone ███████░░░ 68% body █████████░ 91% ✕✕▣ out · 14:22 · ✦6/6 · 12% light
Two bars, because there are two halves. The crosses are the lights that died on the way. Nothing on it says where anything is.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Is there a monster?
No, and there was never going to be one. The antagonists are your battery, the patrols and the dark. Darkness with no threat is just a UI restriction — it costs you vision and hands back nothing — so the battery is what makes the dark expensive instead of merely dark.
What happens when my light runs out?
The maze is rebuilt cell for cell from the same seed. You lose the relics, the battery and the distance. You keep the map — and the clock keeps running. Players will forgive you for taking their stuff, but not for taking their understanding.
Can traps kill me?
No. They bill your light instead. A trap you cannot see before you hit it is a coin flip, and coin flips read as "this game is broken" rather than "I was careless" — so an unseen trap costs you currency, never the run. Enough of them still finish the job.
Does everyone really get the same maze?
Yes. The seed is the date, down to which brick is damp, and tomorrow is a different world. Today's place is named at the top of this page — it is worked out here the same way the game works it out, from the date and nothing else.
Does it need a connection?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and the game plays fully offline. Anonymous analytics are optional and there is a switch for them on the home screen.
